On the occasion of the Domènech i Montaner Year, the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site hosts a series of dialogues with Lluís Domènech Girbau, architect and president of the Lluís Domènech i Montaner Foundation, the entity supporting this initiative.
The first dialogue, Avinguda Gaudí, a mystery to be solved, will be held on January 19 at 7:30 p.m., with the presence of Joan Busquets (architect and professor at Harvard University) and Lluís Domènech Amadó (architect and architectural director of the Sagrera station), who will explain the origins of this street where Domènech i Montaner, Gaudí, Cerdà and Jaussely intervened at the beginning of the 20th century.
The second dialogue, Charcoal sketches by Ramón Casas, will take place on February 21 at 7:00 p.m., with the participation of Cristina Mendoza, art historian and specialist in this painter, who will talk about the portrayed characters who had more to do with the modernist architect.
In the third dialogue, The conservation of the work of Domènech i Montaner, on March 29 at 7:00 p.m., Andreu Carrascal, head of the Historical Archive of the College of Architects; Marta Grassot, head of the Documentation Centre of the Orfeó Català; and Miquel Terreu, head of the Historical Archives of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. They will talk about the conservation and custody of the original work drawn by Domènech i Montaner.
These activities are free of charge.
Next year the Year of Domènech i Montaner will be celebrated, coinciding with the centenary of the architect’s death.
