Today, Thursday 2 July, the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site will host the opening ceremony for the presentation of the teams competing in the 2026 Tour de France, one of the flagship events of the Grand Départ Barcelona 2026.

From 6:30 p.m., the 23 participating teams will begin their route from the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site along Avinguda Gaudí to the Sagrada Família in a ceremony that will be broadcast to audiences in 190 countries, showcasing two of Barcelona’s greatest architectural landmarks to the world.

Under the motto “Barcelona Embraces the Tour”, the team presentation will go beyond its traditional format to become a major cultural spectacle combining music, dance, theatre, circus, opera and popular culture, coinciding with the 2026 World Capital of Architecture.

The ceremony will also pay tribute to Barcelona’s cycling clubs and the volunteers who have made the Grand Départ Barcelona 2026 possible, highlighting the vital role of local associations and civic engagement.

With this ceremony, the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site becomes the starting point of an international event that brings together heritage, architecture, culture and sport, reinforcing its role as a venue for major events that showcase Barcelona to the world.
