New impetus in the year Domènech i Montaner 2023

Next year the Year of Domènech i Montaner will be celebrated, coinciding with the centenary of the architect’s death. This celebration has received a new impetus with the accession of the Department of Culture to the Lluís Domènech i Montaner Table, the body in charge of organizing the centenary.

The Lluís Domènech i Montaner Foundation, the Lluís Domènech i Montaner Study Center, the city councils of Barcelona, Reus and Canet de Mar and the Generalitat de Catalunya participate in the Table, which was set up in the Modernista Complex in 2017 .

The main objective of the Table is to disseminate to the public the legacy of who was one of the main protagonists of Catalan Modernism, as well as to promote local tourism to promote knowledge of his work, which is present in different places in Catalonia, and which includes buildings as prominent as the Sant Pau Modernist Complex and the Palau de la Música Catalana, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Precisely, December 2022 will be the 25th anniversary of this declaration.
