On Thursday 19 May, the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site hosted the event for entities to join the Lluís Domènech i Montaner Committee, set up in 2017 by the city councils of Barcelona, Canet de Mar and Reus with the Centre d’Estudis Lluís Domènech i Montaner (CEDIM) and the Fundació Privada Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
The Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya was the first entity to join the Bureau last February. Now, on this occasion, more than 25 institutions, entities and building owners have joined, such as the Fundació Hospital de Santa Creu i Sant Pau, which manages the Art Nouveau Site.
This committee is an instrument created to disseminate the life and work of one of the main protagonists of Catalan Modernisme, with the more immediate aim of celebrating Domènech i Montaner Year in 2023, the anniversary of his death. In a joint manner, the body organises activities and projects to raise awareness of the figure of the architect and advises on the heritage of the Domènech i Montaner buildings to ensure their preservation or restoration.
