LIFE Victoria: Laurence Kilsby & Ella O’Neill

A voice with an angel
British tenor Laurence Kilsby captivated both audience and critics at the opening of the 2023–24 edition alongside Natalia Labourdette and Kunal Lahiry, in a concert celebrating the centenary of Victoria de los Ángeles. Since then, his debuts in Aix-en-Provence, the Opéra Royal de Versailles and the Salzburg Festival have positioned him as part of a highly promising new generation of singers. His voice and technique follow the finest tradition of British tenors, from Peter Pears to Mark Padmore—who is also featured in this year’s edition. Together with his pianist Ella O’Neill, with whom he recorded his first album *Awakenings*, they present this solo recital at the Festival. A voice with an angel.
