Exhibition “The Sagrada Família and the Hospital de Sant Pau. A Living Memory”

The Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site and the Sagrada Família are inaugurating the exhibition “The Sagrada Família and the Hospital de Sant Pau. A Living Memory”, showcasing the relationship between these two great landmarks of Catalan Art Nouveau.
The joint exhibition explains how Avinguda Gaudí is much more than an urban connection: it is a living dialogue between two masterpieces. On one end stands the Sagrada Família, designed by Antoni Gaudí, a universal symbol of creativity and spirituality; on the other, the Hospital de Sant Pau, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, the finest expression of Art Nouveau applied to public healthcare.
The exhibition invites visitors to discover the historical, architectural and social links between these two iconic Barcelona landmarks. Through seven exhibition cubes and an introductory display, the exhibition highlights their shared history, common values and contribution to the city’s heritage and identity.
With free admission, the exhibition will be open until 15 November 2026 at the entrance to the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site. The initiative forms part of the programme commemorating the centenary of Antoni Gaudí’s death and the 625th anniversary of the Private Foundation of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, two milestones that invite visitors to rediscover the legacy of two institutions deeply connected to Barcelona.
