The Art Nouveau Site is once again hosting the Bachcelona Festival, which is celebrating its 10th edition, after having been awarded the City of Barcelona Music Award 2021 for the relevance of the programme and the performers, one of its characteristic features that it maintains this year.
The festival has scheduled four of its concerts in the Sala Domènech i Montaner. Firstly, on 4th July, the acclaimed Italian cellist Mario Brunello will perform, with a piccolo cello, the first of the two sessions of the complete sonatas and partita of Johann Sebastian Bach that the festival will offer. The second session will be the following day in the Sala Parés.
Encouraging young performers, on 10 July, six cellists will play Bach’s six suites, presenting the composer’s entire repertoire in a single afternoon. This is a charity concert that will donate all the proceeds from the box office to the Enriqueta Villavecchia Foundation, dedicated to the treatment of children’s cancer.
