Victoria’s travels
On his return to the Festival, Xavier Sabata presents us with a very personal proposal around the concept of travel, a constant in Victoria’s career, which conditioned her life, like that of any other singer. This program combines music from the 18th century with music from the 20th century by diverse authors ranging from the Greek Manos Hadjidakis to the Spanish Manuel de Falla and which also has a direct nod to the centenary of Victoria de los Ángeles with the cycle Combat del Sueño by Mompou. , of which her most popular song Above you, only the flowers was premiered by the soprano in her debut at the Palau de la Música Catalana in 1944. Zapato thus returns to LIFE Victoria after the success of the staged Winterreise by Rafael R. Villalobos from last 2021, this time in tandem with Anne Le Bozec.
