Victoria de los Ángeles’ way of organizing programs was distinguished by the variety of repertoires, always combining schools, from German to Catalan and from Spanish to French. La mélodie, as the French song is known, was always present in his programs as it was very close to his way of interpreting and living, going so far as to improvise on the guitar in home recordings, in a style closer to Piaf than to Fauré. One of the most sought-after French sopranos on the current scene makes her debut at LIFE Victoria with this mélodie recital where Manon and Carmen, two of the emblematic characters of Victoria de los Ángeles, will also appear in celebration of her centenary.
