One way to get to know the Modernista Precinct is the free visit, guided by the teacher of the school group. The visit begins in the Pavilion of Sant Salvador, an exhibition space that concentrates the history of the Hospital, since the 15th century, and where tribute is paid to Lluís Domènech i Montaner, a key figure of modernism.
The recommended route continues through the outdoor spaces, with gardens that reproduce the garden-city model devised at the beginning of the 20th century and the hygienic principles of healthcare. In the Sant Rafael Pavilion you can visit a historical recreation that allows you to be in the hospital at its beginnings, in the 1920s, the medicine that was practiced there and the Barcelona of that time.
