Mozart III: Ch’io mi scordi di te?
When Victoria de los Ángeles died in 2005, Ofelia Sala was the voice in charge of paying her a beautiful tribute at the Gran Teatro del Liceo. Years later, in 2013 she was the first voice of LIFE Victoria together with Helmut Deutsch in a recital in La Pedrera. The soprano returns eleven years later to the Festival with this return recital accompanied by Julius Drake, with whom she collaborates for the first time. Together they pay a heartfelt tribute to Victoria de los Ángeles within this centenary edition, with a recital made up of works by Mozart, Strauss, Schubert and Brahms. For Ofelia Sala, Victoria is an indisputable reference, as she is also for Julius Drake, who has a very special memory as the singer is his mother’s favorite.
