The Art Nouveau Site of Sant Pau hosts the 23-24 edition of the LIFE Victoria Festival

The Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation has presented the program for the 23-24 edition of the LIFE Victoria Festival, of which the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau will certainly host twenty recitals until December 2024.

2023 marks the centenary of the birth of Victoria de los Ángeles (1923-2005) and the centenary of the soprano is commemorated this year and throughout 2024, claiming her figure as an artist but also as a woman and pioneer, putting the, with this anniversary, available to all citizens as one of the references that emerged in the country during the 20th century.

For this edition, the Festival proposes a series of possible and impossible dialogues with Victoria: the first include everything she sang and left in this world as a universal legacy, these are Schubert, Debussy or Falla; the second, make up everything that he did not interpret, but that is intrinsically found in his interpretations because they are part of his artistic personality: Tristan und Isolde, Der Rosenkavalier or the poetry of Rainier Maria Rilke. To stroll through this sound universe, they present different itineraries through Mozart, Schubert, Debussy and Mahler, and each recital will be dedicated to one of the facets of the soprano with the intention of continuing to get to know her better on an occasion as special as she is its centenary.
