Two pianists from Victoria

Alicia and Victoria, two great international artists born in Barcelona in 1923. Together they made the first recording, which was part of the prize that Victoria de los Ángeles from Radio Barcelona won in 1940, and the last of the soprano, the Cançó de comiat de Toldrà in the year 2000. Sixty years of friendship and professional relationship, of which legendary witnesses have remained, such as the recital at Hunter College in New York in 1972, which was recorded on disc. The Foundation wants Alicia de Larrocha to also be very present at the Festival during the centenary of this great pianist and that is why it dedicates the piano cycle to her. The cycle will begin with this recital given by Albert Guinovart, who recently remembered her with a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York, where Alicia herself appeared so many times. Two pianists from Victoria -Guinovart accompanied her in the last ten years of her career- united by this piano recital.
