LIFE Victoria: Julius Drake & Mark Padmore

Tenor Mark Padmore, one of the undisputed leaders in the world of Lied, returns to LIFE Victoria after offering a magnetic and unforgettable *Winterreise* in 2021. If on that occasion he dedicated the evening to Franz Schubert, this time it is devoted to another composer from the Walhalla of song: Robert Schumann. Another current master in the field, Julius Drake, will join the tenor at the piano, always bringing his romantic and passionate perspective to the repertoire. Together, in the first part, they will perform Schumann’s Opus 39 and 40, followed in the second part by *Dichterliebe* (A Poet’s Love), one of the composer’s best-known song cycles, which will already have been performed by Elsa Dreisig and Romain Louveau to open this year’s edition.
