Falla’s Spanish songs
“Couldn’t I have composed Falla other songs?” Victoria de los Ángeles sincerely lamented in her diary and it is that this song cycle became a real workhorse for the soprano who was asked to perform wherever she gave a recital. This hit by Victoria was masterfully recorded in an already anthological recording of her recital at Hunter College in New York together with Alicia de Larrocha. The baritone José Antonio López returns to LIFE Victoria, where he made his debut a long time ago in 2016, and this time he does it together with Daniel Heide, in his debut at the Festival. Together they propose a dialogue of Manuel de Falla’s songs with other contemporaries such as Ravel or Finzi.
