From July 20 to October 31, in the Purísima pavilion of the Sant Pau Art Nuveau Site you can see the photographic exhibition “The last days of the modernist hospital.”
This exhibition of large-format photographs recalls the last days of the more than 90 years of healthcare activity in the modernist pavilions and the process of moving the various services to the new hospital building, which took place between June and September 2009. Those days were marked by the hope of moving to more functional spaces, by the regret of leaving such an exceptional environment, and by the challenge of executing a complex transfer plan to minimize the impact on health care activities.
With the move, the starting signal was given to the long process of rehabilitation of the pavilions of the Modernist old hospital, which still continues today.
The photographs that can be seen, taken between June and September 2009, are the work of Robert Ramos, Ferran Sendra and Pere Virgili.
