On Tuesday, March 25 at 8:00 PM, the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site will host the first concert with the new winners of the Salvat Bach Scholarship, organized by the Bachcelona Foundation.
This year’s group of soloists is of high quality and very international, including Welsh soprano Elen Lloyd, who resides in London; mezzosoprano Justina Vaitkuté, born in Rome but from a family of Lithuanian musicians; Valencian tenor Héctor Ruiz; and bass Franco Oportus, originally from Chile and currently based in Germany.
The program will include three cantatas by Bach written during the first months of 1725 (BWV 1, 92, and 127), exactly 300 years ago, with the cantata BWV 1 Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, premiered in Leipzig precisely on March 25, 1725, as the centerpiece.
