Winner of the Premio Victoria de los Ángeles
Following the artistic legacy of Victoria de los Ángeles, the Foundation that bears her name offers every year a prize to a global singer, that is to say, one who knows how to perform opera, oratorio and Lied with the same rigor. The winner of this prize that we offer within the Viñas Tenor Contest at the Gran Teatro del Liceo was mezzo-soprano Valerie Eickhoff, who with her selection and execution of works, ranging from Lied to zarzuela and from opera to oratorio, made the jury I will consider it that way. The German mezzo makes her debut at LIFE Victoria with a luxury accompaniment, Harmut Höll, her regular collaborator pianist but also Renée Fleming or René Papo and legendary musicians such as Hermann Prey or Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
